Fareed Zakaria: China is not a superpower yet – The Washington Post: the latest really stupid editorial from the WP, that Bilderberg/Zionist operation that works insidiously to destroy US economic and political power. Our warmongering papers and media love to deliberately delude the US public about our ability to survive as a nation while running immense trade and budget deficits. Pretending that military hardware=global power is stupid as history makes clear, all empires that try this go bankrupt.
We are going bankrupt. Any perusal of our condition shows we are running red ink all over the place and definitely with all our allies. Our protection of our allies costs us dearly. We protect our trade rivals who are reaming us out, at our own expense with the #1 leech being Japan. Our elites justify spending a fortune, protecting Japan’s trade and home base, because this ‘weakens China’ but it isn’t. It is making China stronger and the US weaker and this proposition is never entertained by our Bilderberg elites.
The US public is told, all we have to do is nuke China and we are home free. This bizarre belief freaks me out because China and Russia who are now allies, can and will nuke us. This suicidal belief we can win a nuclear exchange with the other two main nuclear powers is deeply embedded in the US public’s mind due to a flood of propaganda telling us we are now the world’s #1 military power. But our power is weak due to this military being engaged in stupid religious wars we lose over time.
The Vietnam war lasted 10 years. The Afghanistan war has gone raging onwards for 12 years with no end in sight. Much of the carnage and cost is hidden from view while our politicians never debate the wild spending on this failed invasion. Instead, we are being shoved into even more wars that will drain our coffers and drive up our debts.
I won’t quote from the idiotic Zakaria editorial, it is the usual filth put out by puppets of the media owners almost all of whom are conspiring to prevent the US public from figuring out how free trade is destroying our nation. Instead, a sampling of the comments to this article:

If you’re not willing to kill lots of people, having a large and powerful military is pointless. We have sold our economic muscle, our ability to produce, to China. Enjoy those cheap goods people.

The Nazis and Japanese had no problem with butchering people. And were destroyed due to this attitude problem. The US is copying both failed empires.

Zakaria raised an issue then completely failed to understand his own point. What makes a great power a “superpower” is power projection. The ability to win a war far away from your own country.
The US has that in spades. The Chinese don’t have it at all.
For superpower status, you need (at this point in history) a massive navy including aircraft carriers and lots of marines and air mobile forces. The Chinese have none of this.
If China was a real superpower then Taiwan would already belong to them.
Economic superpower <> military superpower. Zakaria probably should have been a bit clearer what he was talking about.

Economic power=military power. The US has little economic power.Capital is profits, debt is slavery.
The US is deep in debt to its allies and its rivals. We are being self-enslaved.

Good lord!I was the one who taught the Chinese back in the 1980′s history of the world!!! My dad was one of the very first Americans sent to China after Nixon’s famous visit.
The US public is lied to about history, empires and economic power. As our elites (I come from the elite class!!!) have evaded taxes while opening us to trade deficits via ‘free trade’ and we are now a hollow economic power which has a currency floating on perpetual trade DEFICITS which is fatal to any empire.

The history of China as a nation is a history of a nation which pursues its own interests. Mr. Zakaria’s quote from David Shambaugh sums the situation precisely, especially the assessment of China’s economic policies as mercantilist and its diplomacy as passive. China is not, nor will it ever be a contending superpower against the U. S.—the only power that can curtail U.S. power is the U.S.. China is a political and economic opportunist and will be for some time. We should continue to try to integrate China into the world. But it should be done on the world’s terms, not China’s. Until China gets in-line with human rights, enforces standards of fair commerce, it should be treated as a developing country, not a superpower.

China owns us. We don’t own them. And we are owned by our allies who exploit us for their profit while we go bankrupt. For the last 50 years the US has been running ruinous trade deficits and we don’t even talk about this anymore.
It is our DEATH doing this!!!

Also, China has been reeling in Taiwan steadily and has integrated Taiwan into its economy to the point, Taiwan is nearly virtually part of China.

Gosh emeinel, I guess we should just lower our pants and let China spank us. The fact is China faces massive internal problems that it must be solved before calling itself a super-power, either military or economic. And let’s not forget, it is still run by the Communist party, under which corruption is rampant. They have a long way to go.

China owns nothing but a pile of dollars. When you owe the bank a million dollars you are in trouble.
When you owe the bank a billion dollars the bank is in trouble.
And given that China has steadily been decreasing the amount of US debt that they are purchasing, they are not even our largest creditor.

“Washington has sought to integrate China into the world, economically and politically. This policy has been good for the United States, good for the world and extremely good for China.”“China is also a lonely strategic power, with no allies and experiencing distrust and strained relationships with much of the world.”
The first stance contradict the second one, if China is so hated today by most countries and population in the world it’s because China’s economic policy damaged the balance of the world, creating massive unemployment and huge debt through outsourcing, not to mention the financial crisis linked to this imbalance.
Today China’s government understand they can’t raise further by their productivity and are shifting toward military to get control of a big sphere of influence in Asia.
You’re right, China is not a superpower yet, but will use any mean to become the dominant power in the world, by unconventional methods and force, the same way they rule their country.

Um, China has MANY allies. Go watch the UN in action. And one ally happens to be Russia. And GERMANY.

China has no meaningful allies. There are only countries who’s mutual interests currently coincide with China’s.China would not hazard their own self interests for any other country, and no other country would risk its own self interest to support China. [With the possible exception of the DPRK.]
Compare this to the NATO countries and you can see the difference.

When it’s about selling weapons to rogue country of course China and Russia protect their customers together but Russia is also suffering from unfair chinese competition in manufacturing, how many cheap (and not reliable) chinese kalashnikov sold worldwide are killing russian Kalashnikov factory, threatening satellite industry and much more. You’re right to talk about Germany, this country became the trojan horse of china to flow Europe with chinese product as if China was an european country. It will not last indefinitely.

Good lord, what is an ‘ally’????
We have several billion people as ‘allies’ and their countries nearly ALL run trade surpluses with us while we go into debt to them. Our ‘allies’ are destroying our industrial base and pushing us into bankruptcy while expecting us to protect their shipping and banking at OUR expense.
We have no allies. We have successful rivals who take advantage of us.
